STRIDULATORS - Inside Track and Queue;
Two-piece consisting of Steve Roach (looped guitar, casiotones, loops and voice) and Chris Burt (drums, drum synth and voice) who released a 7” recorded on reel-to-reel 4-track. “But rather than reaching back for a lost rock ‘n’ roll essence, this haunting, surging creation of layered drums, synthesisers, guitars and vocals seems to be pushing forward for something new.” - Russell Brown, Hard News

MASSIVE STEREO SELLOUT - Hope, Heated (live at The Rising Sun), 123 and Vortext;
Releasing an EP through Flying Nun Records the two-piece of Steve Roach and Ben Hayman brought together layers of analogue texture and early digital devices to create a Psych-Industrial sound. Mixing multiple sound sources directly to digital 2 track through a mixing desk from the 60’s, MSS created a sound that made performing live a challenge. One night however the planets did align and the result was recorded and an outtake features here.

ETHERSONIC - Unphased, Zero, Known Imposter;
The solo project of Ben Hayman, Ethersonic is the result of a fusion between Hayman’s work in UK based expanded cinema troupe Loophole Cinema and his post punk origins. Samples from industrial and residential spaces across Europe, synthesis, guitar and voice feature in something between ambient and industrial soundscape work. Drum segments from AFC/Sporting Life collaborator Daron Johns also feature in the mix.

UNEXPECTED ITEM - Surface, Acute;
An evolving collaboration between Ben Hayman, Daron Johns and participants in the UK and NZ cities wherever UI perform this unit is economical post punk in spirit and design. Almost based on a drum, bass and guitar plus voice construct but not quite, UI attempt to channel the essential energy and reason for post punk sonics in a way that is relevant to this still very post punk time.
